Alas, yet another affirmation unfolded itself 'before my very eyes' and shocked the heck out of me.
"To the good of all parties concerned" Boy that last sentence should NEVER be underestimated and I am going to remind you why!
My husband and I have been living in San Antonio, Texas for 10 years. About two years ago, we both came to the conclusion we were both tired of Texas and we yearned for the coast and the ocean breeze. My husband was raised on the coast of Southern California and spent his childhood in Boston and I was raised in Newfoundland, Canada with 20 adult years between Vancouver Island and Vancouver. This is not hard to imagine.
So we started out on our real estate journey on the Internet about two years ago and we bantered back and forth between B.C. and Washington State. I am a Canadian and my husband is your typical patriotic American. We have had many lively discussions over this issue and we both come from powerful Irish family ties, so when I say Lively! I mean :Irish Lively discussions.
Henceforth, I commenced on the affirmation path as I have done successfully so many times before over the past 15 years that I had had the pleasure of your acquaintance and I have been doing this affirmation for about two years and yes, adding the clause "To the good of all parties concerned." This clause has helped me keep an open mind. Needless to say I needed to keep an extremely open mind because I say Canada and my spouse says America. What do you do ??? ..... Well, I say do an affirmation 'to the good of all parties concerned.' And this is why ...
Our affirmation was as follows, "We Keith and Carolyn now deserve and have the perfect home for us, overlooking the ocean at the perfect price for with 3 acres of property so we have privacy and our own beach to walk on to the good of all parties concerned." Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. (just as you teach Anne Marie).
We kept thinking it would likely cost a half a million dollars or more to acquire such an affirmation in Vancouver or Birch Bay. Nevertheless we pressed forward with this ridiculous (or so we thought at the time) affirmation.
Lo and behold I am talking to my mother on the phone late one night about two months ago and she mentioned that her and Dad were down to the Cabin last weekend. I had only been to this cabin one time ever and it was when I had flown home to attend a funeral that had occurred under tragic circumstances. Needles to say it had been a very sad and painful experience for me because it was my Aunt who had been like a second mother to me. We spent one day at the cabin that particular Aunt had convinced my parents to buy, because she also had a cabin just down the road. Not to mention it was on the coast of NFLD and up on a hill overlooking a beautiful Bay of water and the gray whales swim in and out every year like clock work, particularly in August. Suddenly I said to my Mom, "Would you and dad consider selling us the cabin so we can keep it in the family?" My mother said, "Well strangely enough your father and I have had a couple of offers on it recently." Let me talk to him and I can call you back." I have 6 siblings so this made me nervous but I patiently waited until the call came in. I picked up the phone and my Mom told me it was okay with dad, that is if we really wanted it.
I then asked her about my siblings. She promptly responded, "I don't see them writing a check for that amount!" There was that typical Irish retort that I was raised on and my eyes filled with tears of wondrous joy. I immediately attempted to recompose myself and my next question was, "Okay Mom how much would you like to sell it for?" She paused and said, "Well we paid $15,000 for it 15 years ago and we spent about $5,000 raising it to a second story and putting new siding on it so I figure $20,000 should do it. If I had false teeth I am sure I would have spit them out on the floor right there and then. I then responded $20,00 Canadian?"
Unless you would rather send $20,000 American I heard her giggle over the phone. I quickly said, "Oh, $20,000 Canadian would be just fine, thanks for the 2nd offer anyway."
She then forwarded photos of the property to me because my memories were quite vague and as I marveled over the photos, it began to dawn upon me that this was a very large piece of land. My mother enclosed a note stating than not only did we own the property the house stood on, but we also owned the property behind the house where the forest begins, and oh yes she had neglected to mention we also owned the property across the 2 lane coastal road, all the way down that hill and .... why yes, we own the beach too which is usually rich in clams and other shellfish every summer like clock work. I showed the photos to my husband and we both agreed it looked to be about 3 acres or even more and we were absolutely thrilled.
So now we plan to buy our house in Birch Bay WA and spend summers in NFLD watching the Gray whales from our very own beach! We don't need 3 acres in Birch Bay anymore. We have it in NFLD. Affirmations when properly done Always work!! and it has to be stated to the good of all parties concerned. Good luck with yours
