A reader asked me whether it was more effective to write out
affirmations or say them. The answer is it is MOST effective
to do both. Write them out and then say them out loud. The
process of doing affirmations is a personal preference. What I
teach is the way they work most effectively for my readers and
myself
The process of doing affirmations as I have stated in many of
my Passport 2000 Newsletters is similar to the planting and
growing process.
First Step: Soil Preparation
(This is done by forgiving everyone and everything that has ever
hurt you and then forgiving yourself.) Now you have
prepared the rich, fertile soil of your subconscious mind and it
is ready to receive the seed.
Second Step: Seed Selection and the Actual Planting
Decide what seed you desire to plant in your beautiful
Affirmation Garden. Then plant it. This process is accomplished
by writing out exactly what you desire to take place in your
life. I call it your Master Affirmation. Please be specific.
Third Step: Watering and Fertilizing
This process is accomplished by taking out your Master
Affirmation every morning and evening and reading it over. Your
subconscious mind takes in every detail and stores it for all
time. You could also take a scrap of paper and write out a Short
Form Affirmation which is three or four key words taken from
your Master Affirmation.
I suggest you do this process three times. You may keep it,
place it under your pillow at night or throw it away. When you
place it under your pillow at night, your subconscious mind has
all night to work on it for you.
Fourth Step: Creatively Visualizing and
Enjoying the Harvest of Your Work
Simply step ahead several weeks or months and actually
visualize the desired event taking place. Bring in the five
senses. See it taking place, hear it, smell a
rose or perfume, feel how good you feel and for taste
bite into a juicy apple.
You already have what you are affirming, it just has not
materialized or you have not experienced it yet! Happy
Affirming!
Remember as I say in my book, Affirmations, Your Passport to
Happiness --
"Affirmations When Properly Done Always Work!"

The Publisher,
Anne Marie Evers
We are so excited to write to you and tell you about a game
we made up and are doing thanks to you and your teaching of
affirmations.
It is based on the old game, 'Bird, Animal or Fish.' This is
when a person who is IT, points to another person and says the
word, Bird, Animal or Fish. The person pointed to has up to 10
seconds to say the species of Bird, Animal or Fish. This has to
be one that has not been said before. The person pointing counts
to ten and if the name of species is not said within that time
frame, that person is IT and the game carries on.
Our game is based on affirmations. I start the game using one
of the categories, Love, Career, Money or Health. I point to a
person and say one of those words and that person has ten
seconds to say an affirmation of what he or she wants within
that category.
For example when I point to a person and say ‘Money,’ he
or she has to say an affirmation which says the word money before
I count to ten.
For example, one could say, "I enjoy spending money,
money is my friend, I enjoy money, money circulates freely in my
life, etc. etc." and then they go on to their specific,
personal request such as -- "I now have a new outfit, new
car, etc."
It is really fun and we are learning many ways to ask for
money, love, health and career.
Another example in health, they could say, "I am
healthy, 100% health is mine, Health is wonderful. Health is my
friend, etc. etc. and then go on to their specific, personal
request such as "I now have beautiful, shiny healthy hair,
straight, white beautiful teeth, clear, radiant skin, slim body,
am free of pain, and so on."
When we do it in a group of ten or more people, it is most
interesting to hear what people come up with and what interests
various people at certain times in their lives.
I never knew that Alan thought he had ugly teeth, Jennifer
thought that she was too fat and Judy was interested in public
speaking until they added those requests (personal
affirmations).
We find This Affirmation Game very interesting, uplifting,
informative and fun!
It sure beats negative talk and gossiping about our
neighbors, their clothes, spending habits, love lives, etc.
It keeps each of us focused on what we want to see take place
in our lives. Not only that but now we can all affirm for
specific things for one another, like that master minding that
you speak about, Anne Marie.
We really feel that a ‘Thank you’ to you is in order. So
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Anne Marie!
P.S.
When people are not knowledgeable about affirmations, I
simply haul out your book on Affirmations and offer to lend it
to them. Then I suggest they purchase one of their own to refer
to.
Just wanted to let you know that your message has reached all
the way to Australia!
Suzie, Jan and Sylvia
Dear Suzi, Jan and Sylvia:
It was so delightful hearing from you. I think your game is
great and it sounds like so much fun, I will have to try it here
in Vancouver. Thank you for sharing your wonderful idea!
Please keep me informed as I am very interested in how this
game progresses. I am anxious to hear the wonderful results that
occur as a result of becoming focused and doing affirmations.
Keep up the good work. I am proud of you all!

I just received a cheery hello from Stella. Do you remember
Stella who challenged gals over the Internet Waves to do
Affirmations to attract and have that loving, lasting, happy
marriage? She still maintains she met her man through doing
affirmations and calling on the help of Cupid. She still wears
that special T-shirt she had made for her that reads,
"Thank you Cupid."
Stella advised me that she now has three T-shirts with the
words, "Thank you Cupid" printed thereon just waiting
for three of her girlfriends’ affirmations to come
true. She says she has taught them to do affirmations and
fully expects the shirts will be awarded any day now.

"The Phoenix News Nertwork presents Ask Anne Marie -
The Affirmation Column by Anne Marie Evers
Dear Anne Marie
Is it more effective to write out affirmations, read them or
say them? Also I have two young children and wish to know how to
involve them in the affirmation process. I look forward to your
answer. Thanks... Cindy
Dear Cindy:
I feel the most effective way to do affirmations is to do all
three, write, say and read them. First decide specifically what
you desire, then write it out. Next read it over and then repeat
it out loud.
Repetition is very important. To involve your children in the
affirmation process, you could make up a verse, rhyme or song
composed of positive affirmations. One young mother teaches her
five year old daughter cute, little verses such as "I love
myself. I love my body. I am important. I am happy. I love my
hair. I am pretty inside and out and so on." As they sing
these little verses and songs together she is teaching her
daughter to appreciate and love herself at a very young age.
Another mother makes up an Affirmation Game. She writes
short, positive affirmations on little index cards and places
them in an Affirmation Breakfast Box. Every morning each child
pulls out an affirmation, reads it and thinks about it during
the day. When the children come home from school, they write a
few words telling how they used the affirmation and what took
place during that day. This method of writing, reading and
talking about affirmations is teaching the children to think
constructive thoughts, reflect on positive thinking and to
observe their own actions. It also helps install a
decision-making apparatus they can use for their lifetimes. This
particular family has three children, ages seven, eight and ten.
This exercise also teaches the children to be team players as
they share their experiences with each other at the end of the
day. The mother recommends this procedure to all parents as a
wonderful communication tool.
Anne Marie
Dear Anne Marie
I have misplaced or lost my diamond ring. I am not sure where
to begin looking. I am devastated because it belonged to my
beloved grandmother who has passed on. Can I do an affirmation
to find it? Thank for your help.
Sue
Dear Sue
Yes, you could create an affirmation as follows, "I,
(your name) deserve and now have located my diamond ring that I
received from my grandmother. We are all happy to the good of
all parties concerned. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you."
Do this affirmation with faith and expectancy. While the
affirmation cannot jump off the paper and find the diamond ring
for you, it can and does lead you to search in the right places.
Blow breath into your affirmation by taking action. Actively
search for the ring and think of places you wore it last. Did
you take it off to wash dishes or clean? If so, recall where you
may have placed it for safe keeping. Enlist the help of family
members to help you locate it.
You could also think where the diamond ring could be and then
close your eyes and say to yourself, "Clear, Search and
Retrieve." Then allow your mind to be cleared of worry and
panic. Search for the information about the diamond ring that is
already stored in your subconscious mind and then retrieve the
memory. Good Luck in your search!
By Sandi I.M. Capobianco
I used to say, "I'll believe it when I see it" but the
Angels say that when you believe it, you will see it. I have
since changed my thoughts and words and say instead, "I now
BELIEVE and I now see.". Since my focus has changed to
first BELIEVING, many wonderful miracles happen to me on a daily
basis as my Angels lovingly and anxiously work with me. I now
see the Divine Hand at work in my life. Before this, I was going
NOWHERE. Now I can honestly say that I am NOW-HERE, living in
the moment.
Now I ask all you readers to once again take a careful look at
the heading the word "NOWHERE". I'm sure many of you
who are reading this article see the heading as meaning, as
Webster's Dictionary cites, "Not in or at any place; not
anywhere; a place or state of obscurity" a void, so to
speak.
Why is it that our minds automatically shift into negative gear
before we choose the positive aspect? Have we been bombarded and
conditioned by such tremendously negative forces that we
immediately respond to both internal and external stimuli with
pessimism, thereby debilitating, crippling, and stifling our
growth and evolvement?
The word "NOWHERE" represents an old concept whereby
it can be interpreted either negatively, or, through choice, be
regarded in a positive light to mean NOW-HERE! How much more
beautiful the word sounds when we interpret it as meaning
NOW-HERE BE-ing and living in the present moment. To quote
Corita Kent, "Life is a succession of moments. To live each
one is to succeed". Going a step further, H.L. Mencken
says, "We are here and it is now. Further than that, all
human knowledge is moonshine".
Sometimes we speak of ourselves and our lives as going NOWHERE,
when we can
uplift and empower ourselves by thinking and believing that we
are all NOW-HERE, ever present, living, breathing and BE-ing in
the "HERE" and "NOW".
I invite you all to pay attention to and master this great gift
of speech, and to efficiently effectuate the power of your
words. Often we speak without thinking, but if we slow down our
thoughts it follows that our speech will slow down as well,
allowing us to chose our words with care to create the desired
outcome of our thinking. When we master this process,
we begin to look at our words and become discerning enough to
choose them with care, and express what we truly wish to convey.
The following quote from an anonymous author is appropriate at
this point, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for
tomorrow".
NOWHERE can be seen by many as a dead-end street, but life is a
journey to be enjoyed before we reach our final destination. So
why not enjoy the pilgrimage by living NOW-HERE! Ursula K. Le
Guin says, "It is good to have an end to journey toward;
but it is the journey that matters, in the end". We can
affirm this by saying, "I choose to appreciate each day of
my life". All we ever really have is the present just one
moment in time. That's all that counts - that's all the creator
has given us. That which has come before serves to shape and
form us as well as our present, but anything beyond that is
anyone's guess. Remember, "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow
is a mystery. Today is a gift, and that's why we call
it the present".
So let us now focus on BE-ing in the present and as we are
NOW-HERE, let us realise and appreciate the many gifts we have
and the multitude of blessings we receive. Let us notice that
today is slipping away and it is in the NOW-HERE that our true
happiness lies, as we learn to develop a focus of living in
life's present stream. Being NOW-HERE enables us to
draw from the present moment all the experiences and emotions
readily available for our learning and BE-ing. It means being
able to appreciate a sunset, taking time to observe and to
listen in the silence. We must learn to "do" less and
"BE" more. In BE-ing NOW-HERE, we are able to connect
with the creator and to the essence of "oneness" the
true essence of
life. We learn the real meaning of love, joy, peace, and
harmony, abandoning ourselves and our egos to the will of the
Divine just succumbing to momentary experiences that become a
part of who we are and what we are becoming fully present and
fully alive.
I leave you with this quote by Dan Wakefield, "Appreciation
of life itself, becoming suddenly aware of the miracle of being
alive, on this planet, can turn what we call ordinary life into
a miracle. We come awake to such a realization when we recognize
our connection to a spiritual dimension". We can thus
affirm, "My life is a work of art".

Healing Through Affirmations, Faith, Perseverance and
Positive Thinking
Anne Marie and I have been friends for over twenty-one years.
We did affirmations even then, but they are not as refined as
they are now. Anne Marie spent all these years writing books and
fine-tuning affirmations leading to the success it is. I have
written many affirmations and have received almost everything I
have asked for. The Universe is abundant, no one said you
couldn't ask for whatever your heart desires. By saying the
affirmation properly, you will receive it if it is good for you.
The most important affirmation I asked for was to heal myself.
In November 1998, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. It is a
very frightening experience. Fortunately for me, I was able to
phone my dear friend Anne Marie and ask for help. She told me to
write out 77 times every morning and evening "I am 100%
healthy," for seven days before my operation.
When the affirmation goes out in the Universe, it seems as if
you are guided in what
procedure you should follow. Before my operation, I found a
Reiki person who has a Master Degree. Reiki relaxes you and
helps heal the body. The Therapeutic Touch and Healing Touch are
all similar and very effective ways to calm the body and mind
before an operation and after.
The most disturbing thing that happens to you is the mind
just keeps chattering. It needs to be calm and positive which is
very hard to do. As one minute you are positive and the next you
are scared, negative and afraid. Reiki or Healing Touch will
help calm the mind.
In Anne Marie's book she tells you to take a cup of water and
write on a piece of masking tape "FEAR" and tape it to
the cup. Look into water and pour out your fears into the cup.
Then pour the water slowly out.
I only had time for one appointment before the operation and she
had me visualize
the operation being a success. Then I planned a trip so I
would have something to look forward to. It was a reward for all
the pain I went through.
Anne Marie asked me to light a blue candle. The blue candle
is for healing and I bought fresh flowers to enjoy their
presence.
I put on a healing tape and said a prayer every night before I
went to sleep. Many of my friends and family prayed for me as
well.
The results from doing all this is after the operation, the
Doctor told my husband he could not believe how calm I was. This
is very important for the healing process.
I had to have radiation treatments for six weeks. The Doctor
said I was a great little healer. This was because I affirmed
every day. I prayed and I went for Reiki every week and took
vitamins recommended by a Naturopathic Doctor.
It is a miracle how the body can heal itself but it needs your
help. I feel I am very fortunate lady to be healthy again.
I still write my affirmation every day 77 times "I am 100%
Healthy and Happy."
Thank you Anne Marie for the years of your devotion and for
writing your book. Affirmations helped me at the most important
time of my life.

Dear Caroline
Sometimes I think my boyfriend Fred is cheating and sometimes I
KNOW in my heart that he is NOT and that he is faithful. How can
I be absolutely sure? Is there some kind of test I can take?
Fran
Dear Fran:
It seems that you are very insecure. Sometimes a person can be
paranoid and no matter whom they are with will be suspicious.
Does this describe you? If you only feel this way with this
person, then intuition is telling you that something is wrong
but you are ignoring it. There is no kind of test to find out if
a person is unfaithful. If Fred is cheating eventually you will
find out unless you want to hire a detective or follow him
yourself. I think you should trust your boyfriend unless you
have hard evidence to the contrary.
Trust in a relationship is a very important ingredient. This
kind of mistrust can hinder your relationship. This relationship
is not very secure if you have these doubts. I would suggest you
do an affirmation for the right man for you and if Fred is the
right one it will happen. Do not put Fred's name in the
affirmation. See Anne Marie's book on affirmations, Page 80.
Happy Hunting - Caroline Psychic & Counselor
Dear Caroline:
I broke up with Sue seven years ago. Several weeks ago, I ran
into her at a bar and we ended up in bed and it was great and
exciting. Now she is not returning my phone calls and I know she
is getting them. I am obsessing about her. What can I do? I
heard that she is moving down east in the next few weeks and I
am worried that I will never see her again!
Thomas
Dear Thomas:
It is obvious that Sue does not have the same feelings as you
do. I would suggest you quit phoning her as this is turning her
off completely. If Sue were interested she would be returning
your calls. Sue should have been polite and communicated to you
how she felt about the relationship. This is not the woman for
you. Do an affirmation to attract the right woman to you. See
Anne Marie's book on affirmations page 80.
