Editorial:
First of all I wish to take this opportunity to wish all our US readers a very happy Thanksgiving! At this time it is so important to stop
and take time to give thanks to our Creator for all our blessings. Let us set our priorities and enjoy the things in life that really count.
Also let us live, breathe and be happy in the NOW!
Kyle, one or our Passport readers wrote me an email asking me now he could be happy
when he felt depressed, sad and lonely. He also said he was spending a great deal of time worrying about the future and future
events.
My answer to him was, "Kyle, now is the time to decide whether or not you wish to be happy or unhappy. It is a matter of choice. No
one, and I mean absolutely no person can ever jump into your mind and think your thoughts for you. You are the thinker of the
thought! Be careful what you are focusing and concentrating upon. It is important to focus on what you want to see take place in
your life instead of what you do not want. There is no right or wrong way, only the chosen way. Choose the happiness habit. Smile,
even if you have to fake it until you make it. Remember that old saying, "Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry
alone!" Take control of your life today.
When you are tempted to worry, try my method. When I am worried about something I take a piece of paper and pen and write down
everything that I am worried about. I put a date on it, sign it and then put it away in a drawer. I leave it there for at least six months
and then I take it out and read it. 90% of what I was worried about never happened and other 10% that did happen was not the least
bit affected by my worry ... so why worry?

Intuition and Reflections
Janice is now taking reservations for the November class.
It will begin November 5th, 2001 and run till December 10th, 2001
On Monday nights 7-9pm in North Vancouver.
The class is about learning to trust your intuition more and to
understand your life more through the use of reflections. Trusting
our intuition assists us in our day to day lives in making
decisions. It helps us to know when we are going in the right
direction for ourselves. I have been spending more time this last
class in helping to understand one's reflections. I find that this
is a very good way to help my students make the changes they want
to in their lives. If you want less stress in your life and
more joy, then this is the class for you.
Janice believes learning should be fun, so prepare to laugh.

regular event to create a time for everyone to consciously be more
positive in our lives.

month.

Affirm & Learn Enhancement Program for Children:
We acknowledge that November is the declared Anti-Violence month and are proud to announce that our anti-violence program for
children called The Affirm and Learn Enhancement Program is being taught for its 2nd year in Grade 3 in Kendall Elementary School
in Washington State!
We now have classes teaching affirmations to young children in the North Vancouver area. One young single mom of three boys
ages 4, 6 and 7 is teaching it to her sons. They have just finished making their Affirmation Houses to house the Affirmation Family. It
is so rewarding to see young children learning positive words, actions, methods and exercises to help them cope in a positive
manner in this uncertain world.
I will keep you posted on our North Vancouver Mom and the family's progress. I was so honored to spend the afternoon with them
and catch their enthusiasm and excitement. We can never start teaching our children positive things too young.

Dear Anne Marie,
I know this may not be very fitting, especially with everything that is taking place on our planet, but I want to write to you in hopes
that you will be able to help me. I have read about Weight Reduction and control in your recent Affirmations book and find it very
helpful.
I do have a specific problem. I am a sweet alcoholic. I cannot eat only ONE piece of candy even though I really try. I just have to eat
it all. Do you think that abstinence of sweets altogether may be the answer? As you know our U.S. Thanksgiving is coming up and I
can already taste the Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream. Thanks in advance.

Dear Darlene,
I really can emphasize with you as I consider myself a fellow sweet alcoholic. I have been thinking about it for years and I do agree
that perhaps, as with alcoholics, we may need to abstain from eating sweets, at least until we are at our ideal weight. The secret
here would be to say, "I choose not to eat that sweet, chocolate or candy at this moment, but if I want it later when I have dropped
this extra weight, I will do so." That way you are not telling yourself that you can never ever eat sweets again! Of course, many of us
use sweets as comfort food when we are feeling depressed, sad or lonely. We can even use sweets as a reward when we have done
something that we think is good. Let us try rewarding ourselves with a warm, soothing bath, brisk walk or eating a piece of fresh fruit,
just for now. You may wish to read my article in this edition, 'A Thoughtful Approach to Weight Control.'

Thoughtful Approach to Weight Control:
Anne Marie Evers, Affirmations Coach
No thought is without its corresponding action. Action produces reaction -- so all health, all wealth, all happiness must begin in the
action of the brain cells. Then these magnetic and electrical pulsations are sent to all parts of the body through the sympathetic
nervous system creating their own corresponding reaction.
Stop living your life on lay-away or looking in the rear view mirror. Live in the Now!
It is important to live in the now. See yourself now being the weight you wish to be. Even as we concentrate on the future, it has
already slipped past the shores of consciousness and become the present. When I started writing this newsletter it was in the
present and now it is in the past.
The future is like a moving stream of time in consciousness. Now neutralize and cancel all and any thoughts being overweight. Thoughts when they are positive become mental magnets, which
fill the circle of your Magic, Magnetic Circle of your presence (aura) with positive, dynamic, attracting power. People sense it and
respond. Learn to forgive self and all others and then love, respect and approve of yourself, just the way you are. What is
magnetism? It is the mysterious cosmic power that holds the earth, sun, moon, stars and the whole solar system in place. Like
thoughts of weighing the ideal weight attract other like thoughts and will eventually attract that situation to you.
Weight is a state of mind. When you stimulate your brain cells with positive, happy thoughts, you project cosmic magnetism to
every atom and cell of your body. Repeat over and over, "Ideal weight for me." Also, "I, your name, deserve and now weigh the ideal
weight for me." When you say, "I, your name. deserve and Now weigh --- you bridge the present with the future. Say that it is your
intention to weigh the ideal weight for you. Also say, "I understand that food is a spiritual idea of substance and I am now in
complete agreement with this idea. Everything I eat is perfectly assimilated and perfectly eliminated. I love my perfect metabolism."
Paint a picture of food and then imagine that you are eating the most delicious foods - tasting the different flavors; seeing yourself
enjoying the food; feeling how full your stomach is; smelling the wonderful aromas and hearing the crunching sound of eating nuts.
Just know in your mind that you are eating this imaginary food. Then rub our or completely erase that picture of food! It works. You
are full! Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between a real and an imagined event. It does not differentiate
between them. You will feel as if you have just eaten.
People who maintain a regular exercise routine will have more lean muscle fiber to capture and burn the fat particles before they have
a chance to establish a resting place or take up residency in the body. The Hypothalamus Gland is a weight regulating mechanism.
Some people say they can set-point the weight they desire to weigh by using this gland. Visualize all the excess fat and weight
dropping from your body from the right places. Enjoy your slim, trim new figure!

A Time of Change:

Self Empowerment Coach
This is a very important time at the moment. The energy around
the earth is there to assist us in change. What has your life
stance been so far? Think of the most recurring pattern, is it not
being loved, always being misunderstood, not ever getting what you
want, always getting hurt? Take some time now to think about this,
think about all your past situations, is there a particular theme
that has played over and over again. Once you recognize what that
is, begin to create a new picture for yourself. How would you like
your life to be? Take a little time to think about what that would
look like. Many of you will say but this will never work, I've
tried before and nothing has changed.
I'm telling you that this
time it will be much easier to make that change, so please, give
it another try. There is so much energy around right now to
energetically assist you with this shift. You don't want to miss
this opportunity. It's like there is someone else to do over half
the work. Once you have decided what you want your life to look
like now, create a clear picture of it in your mind. As soon as
you hear your negative voice saying it can't work, you want to say
Thank you but I now choose this new picture. Keep reminding your
mind of this. Be persistent and pay attention so you catch the old
thoughts and remind the mind that you are choosing new thoughts.
You will be surprised at how quickly you will start to see the
changes.

Reflections:

Hi Janice,
I am having some difficulty with a couple of my friends, they
don't seem to understand who I am. The other day one of them asked
me a number of times not to betray her trust. I don't understand
why she keeps saying this when I wouldn't. Does she not trust me?
My other friend accused me of telling a mutual friend some nasty
things about her. I did not do this and don't understand why she
won't believe me. Help, I don't want to lose these friends but I
am terribly upset .

Hi Linda,
I can understand you being upset, it is difficult when others
don't seem to understand who we are. They likely have something
going on with themselves but that is not your concern. Your
concern, is what can I learn from this? How are you not really
listening to yourself or misunderstanding yourself? It also could
be that you don't trust yourself and are in conflict as part of
you sees yourself as trustworthy and another part doesn't. Play
close attention to your inner voice over the next few days. With
careful listening, you may find the places that you are missing
within yourself. Also listen to what you say to others, sometimes
those are the words we most need to hear ourselves.
Be gentle with yourself
